I'm making a formal request for this forum to change the teeny tiny avatar size limits to something more reasonable. After last weekend's awesome get together at Loudon, I checked On Track Media Photography's photos and found one to purchase. While checking out, I saw they also offered a "low resolution small avatar size image 500K" of it to download for $12, which I also purchased thinking it would work for an avatar on this forum. Wrong! The downloaded size was 550x365 Px, 106 KB. Way too big for this forum, but worked fine for the 851/888 forum. I'm sure I'm not the only member here that has tried to add an avatar to their profile, but given up in disappointment and frustration. I think Steve may be the only member that has one, but it's all blurry because it's so small. This is a wonderful forum and has been a great success, however, I do think a widespread use of avatars here would add even more character or interest or just plain visual appeal to its look. Bill

Hi You need something like it http://myimagenie.com/ to do the job. A 100k file is very small and is hard to see the a so small picture. Carl

Thanks Carl, that didn't do it either, but coming up with ways to get around our limit is not what I'm asking for. Our avatar size restriction may only be adequate for a forum intended for pencil artists devoted to stick figures. If that's the only way it can be, so be it. I love this forum, and don't mean to sound negative about it in any way. No more posts on this subject from me. Bill

I increased the size to 120 x 103 and 16.2kb. See how that works (I'm just winging it here...)

Nope. The supposedly avatar sized file is 550x365, 106kb. Don't spend any more time on it, we both have plenty of more important things to take care of. Thanks, Bill
