Yes Cal, the early F1a had corse splines the later fine. No worries Bill, did you win the championship that year? If so it was worth it! Lou

Lou, that was at Barber the year before, but it helped us (mostly me) learn valuable lessons.
Cal, my memory is really crappy, but after checking with Robbie and Bruce, I think I must have adjusted the chain too tight after changing the tire, and Bruce thinks the design of the sprocket keeper (both its screws were sheared off) must have then allowed it to cock on the shaft a little as it went around. The chain then wore thru the heat treating on its back side and started popping off teeth. Robbie doesn't remember if he was aware if anything was amiss when he came in, but in all likelihood he's lucky the rear didn't lock up on him.

Looks like a Marvic on the rear, but your sprocket mounting/carrier looks like it has flange around the sprocket?? Is that for spacing or for strength? See ya, Clay

It's always nice to see your bike Tom. I used to dream about setting my old B up just like yours, but never pulled it off. Looks great! Bill

Tom Hit me up/explain more about the small plug note. When I started working on my F1 I was surprised that it had a spark plug that looked like it was from a Honda CT70 . Is that what you are talking about?

Maybe the Bimota DB1 sprocket is offset and coarse? Sam, I have two new 520 coarse spline sprockets, z14 and z15. They are JT sprockets that I have had lightened. PM me if you're interested.
