WOW. I feel like the Lone Ranger and Tonto showed up to rescue me! Hay Cranky: Unlike some I save the notes you have given us about these lines. I may restrict the lines to the heads at the outlet. All is fluid right now (pun intended). Isn't it amazing that they used hard plastic lines to the small banjo bolts, without any form of anchoring? PG: The lines I have are stainless steel reinforced, covered with black braid. They are intended as automotive lines, with high temps and burst specs. I have several photos of TTs of the era using only hose clamps. May end up with crimps on them. But the first run may be done the very simple way just to see how things go. Thanks for the concern. Hi Mike. I have a friend who made an imola replica and put the oil lines with banjos and clamps. Everything works fine and without losses, it can be done.

I have no idea where the year has gone, but summer has almost disappeared here. The left lower rail was bent, and that stalled me a long time. A big 'ole Harbor Freight propane extension torch heated it well enough (medium red) to move it back in place perfectly. But I was not able to borrow Lou's official fairing oil cooler holes device, so I survived it this way: a piece of SS metal bolted to the front and a drill; it did not turn out as fragile as I had feared. Amazing how much time it takes to make all these body pieces from different sources fit and line up correctly. If I can now get the frame and swingarm stripped and painted I can move on with the intent of painting the body work as the last major task early next year. MikeV Attachment:

Even a little progress is still progress, good going Mike. As someone who had the front fairing support off the steering head on my old '77 900ss snap in two while a long way from home, I hope you'll forgive me for thinking yours is looking a little delicate. Bill

Hey Mike... I'm going cross eyed just thinking about drilling all of those holes. Can't imagine what you were seeing when it was done. Very innovative using the "ready made" drill pattern. Must have been quite challenging getting all of the bodywork right only working from, I assume, the small photographs of the originals. Looks really good. Nice job. Regards..... Flattop

I appreciate any comments from experience P Good. But in my hands it does not seem very delicate. And, I am trying to duplicate the original as best I can. MikeV

It has taken a long time to get back to this. Finally weather good enough to paint in. Once I get to this stage it should go quickly, in spite of the many small things to do. A track day in September looks possible. MikeV Attachment:
