Hello... Thinking about swapping the steering stem from a 35mm Marzocchi or Paioli triple, into a 38mm Marzocchi (bevel drive) triple. Any thoughts or advise? Thanks... Flattop

You did not say why you are doing this, so I assume it is to put bigger forks in a Pantah frame and, therefore, you need the shorter stem. You need a big hydraulic press to push the stems downward; putting something on the top to protect the threads is a good idea. Heating the clamps a little would not hurt. Otherwise, it is a simple swap. MikeV
The alternative is to line-bore the 35mm clamps to 38mm. Costs a bit, but saves the original 38mm set.

I just finished doing this job myself, I warmed the lower up to about 2 hundred degrees Fahrenheit and put it in a 5 ton press and it came out very easily. As Mike stated I machined an alloy plug to push on. Paul

Thank you gentlemen... This is exactly what I was hoping to hear. The 38mm is going into a Pantah frame. For once something might actually be easy! Best regards... Flattop
