I asked philnz what bikes give him the most competition, so I ask you what bikes are the hardest to stay in front of?

Thanks Philnz! Flattop900 in My Class there are alot of different and competitive bikes, Laverda 500 , many Ducati mono, Kawasaki mach 3 500, but also cb 350 twin and in another class but togheter in the race a horde of screaming rd 350 air and liquid cooled. All wery fast and competitve. Anyway last year the champinship wws win by the kawasaki and the year before by the Laverda formula 500 ciao Filippo

Hello everybody Few weeks ago I had my second race. Not a good result under the checkered flag. I managed to close in tenth position. But I had 3 amazing track days, I finally get a very good feeling with the bike. And I really enjoyed cornering with the bike. I realized to have a good speed gap, trying now to reduce it installing 36 mm dell'orto carbs instead the 30 mm I had before. I can see difference just with the engine on in neutral . hope to.have benefits also in running he bike.
Ciao Filippo

Hello Filippo.... Nice to hear from you again. So the podium was not to be this time, but you survived, the bike survived and you had a great time. This can be just as rewarding indeed. I see a beautiful green mountain in the background of your picture. Varno must be a very nice place to spend the weekend racing your bike. If Varno is a fast track with long straights, the 30mm carbs would surely hold you back on the top speed. The 36mms will help with that. Sprocket size can also make a big change. Keep improving the bike and the podiums will come. You did it once you can do it again. Good luck for your next race!
Best Regards.... Flattop900

That is the circuit Autodromo Riccardo Paletti at Varano de Melegari, near Parma. Not the other Varano near Ancona. Nice setting, great surroundings and fabulous bikes during the ASI motor show.
@Filippo : why the big increase from 30 to 36 ? Lots of 32's available for experiments and no need to do a lot of work on the heads. Unless the heads were machined for 36's.
ciao ducadini

Flattop900 e Ducadini, thank you for replying an for the encouragement. I make mistake in writing, the place is, in fact, Varano de Melegari near Parma, the circuit is on the bank of a river surrounded by wooden hills. This is not a fast circuit, with small straight but with same lovely turns. I was ok with my sprocket set up,.but i have not acceleration, so i decided to put the 36. I put those carbs just because i have it at home and they fit my 350 head, no need to machine the head, just plug in. Now the engine take revs very rapidly. Ciao Filippo
