Good day gentleman, I have been luring as a guest off and on since the forum started, always wanted an F1 but always seemed to be 5 minutes too late. I think I have found one, bike has been a race bike since new, I was told it was the amf twins champ in 1991. Was anyone here around those racetracks in that time period? Thanks Paul Here is a photo of the beast, last run in 1991 Attachment:

Looks like a nice piece, Paul. Did you buy it?
I'm guessing Gary, Mike or Richie will recognize it - I however was in a psychedelic haze in the early 90s...

How bout all the Harris stuff on this F1. Tank, seat, fairing and crossbar on frame. This was a Harris replica F1, not a TT replica. Who built it and who remembers it? Lou

Paul, That's a very cool bike!! Really like to know more history of it. My Harris TT was originally bought from Sports Racing for AFM racing and also did well a little earlier. As soon as I think of the guys name, I'll edit it in. Love that Circle Bell decal. Bill

Ok, the original owner/racer of my bike was Art Chambers. He is a lawyer who does some work somehow with the AMA. I tried to get him to come to Willow to see his old bike when we were out there, but he was always tied up with the AMA races at Sears Point which were the same weekend. AFM online info gets very sketchy from the early '90's back, but his name does come up in racer "thank yous" for help/sponsorships. He did have a real hot rod version he had held onto, and asked if I was interested in buying it. Couldn't swing it, but always wondered what happened to it.
Paul, any chance the name Art Chambers is associated with your bike?
Lou, Do you think it's a Harris frame? I see the cross tube and the Harris bits and it's missing the r/h exhaust hanger, but to me the rest of the frame looks Ducati.

I will see if I can find out if Art was involved with this bike. This bike was purchased from a Suzuki dealer in California in 1986 as a race bike. I was told that bike was crashed during a race and all original bodywork and tank damaged, hence the Harris Kit. It has a ducati vin number that seems to fall in line with a 86 F1, the engine number also seems to fit. The heads have been dual plugged, not sure about any other head work. It has no charging system and a one off ignition system, no starter( which will have to be rectified!)
I should have shipping finalized Monday, then just sit and wait. Thanks to all of those that have posted! Paul

That is a great find; most all there probably, a lot of nice parts, and a good looking profile. I hope you re-do in a similar vein. MikeV

I agree with all the posts, it is a great find and hopefully will stay in as raced form. It just looks like a modified F1 frame to me Bill, as you can still see the F1 centerstand tabs on the bottom of the frame. Lou

Paul, from your latest info, I'll guess Art was not a former owner, but certainly must have raced against it. Too bad Ducati didn't make the F1's that pretty right from the start. Your bike has some very nice components on it. Are you going to keep it a track bike? Bill
