I haven't been participating on the forum much over the last 6 months and thought I'd shed a little light on the reason why...

I've been working hard since the beginning of the year to wind down the loudbike commercial activities and move myself back into the software industry - essentially so I can get back to enjoying loud, fast, Italian motorcycles as a passionate hobby.

Making a living with motorcycles works for some, but I struggled to keep the passion alive as my business evolved and grew. After the Mosport event last May, I put motorcycling on the shelf as sort of an incentive to stay focused on the transition, so I haven't done anything on my stuff (other than confirm that I could fit some top-idle Mikuni Pro-Series carbs on my DB1) since then. This month I accepted an offer to lead the sales & marketing side of a hot local software startup, so effective November 1st, I'm back into my little shop with renewed enthusiasm.

I've got a fun winter's work planned: Strip the DB1 motor and do some work on the bottom-end, and start the restoration work on the Quarterly DB1R.

Life is full of transitions - I got made redundant just last week I promptly spent the redundancy cheque on a new bike

It is so great to have the "safe harbour" that is this forum to shelter from - that other thing - Life - I think we call it

Thanks, guys - I already see my machines in a different light. End of the month, the 1/4ley DB1R gets torn down and the FUN begins.

...Looks like Yellow Bike IV is in my future as well - see my recent post on the Curtis Frame Kits..
