Greg Pullens new book Desmodue is now avaiable, It is a very well written, well researched book. It tells the real story of the history of Ducati, and of course the Pantah based machines.

Hello Pat. Now we will have the real story to go with the untold story. Mystery solved. MikeV PS: Maybe I should sell some of my [too] many Mick Walker books about Guzzis. |

Mike - you actually think there is a market for old Mick Walker books? I misread the way the Queen writes her dates. Publish date is 6 Feb. not June 2nd. Hard copy is available now at: http://crowood.com/details.asp?isbn=9781847979018&t=Ducati-Desmodue---The-Complete-Story-from-Pantah-to-Scrambler They will ship to the U.S. for £8.20 UK sterling, so total to USA is £28.20 UK or about $43.55 US. I checked with Amazon USA and they have no current plans to offer it in hard copy, only e-book. Bill |

My copy of "Ducati Desmodue" arrived last week and yesterday I read the chapters pertaining to Pantahs and Supersports. It was certainly interesting and enjoyable reading, but I couldn't help from mentally comparing it to Falloons "Ducati Belt-Drive Two-Valve Twins" book which I have referred to countless times over the years. Sadly, I have to say that I think the new book came up way short when describing the detail engine and chassis changes between all the various models, and what components were fitted to each. I am happy to have the new book, but if I could only have one, it would definitely be Falloon's. Bill |

I my view, Falloon books are very good to know the modifications made to the models from one year to the following year. Greg Pullen's book is better for someone who want to know the inside story at the factory and between the important people at the factory (like Tagloni, Farne and Bordi) and the other actors in Ducati history like Ferracci, Wynn, Slinn, Scuderia NCR, Leoni, etc. Just my 2 cents, Gilles Lachance |
