What size rear wheel/tire are you running?

It’s a beautiful build.

Wait a minute, wait a minute! I think Carlo just called my bike a whore pig, and me a son of a bitch! Or maybe it's my translator. Either way I have a helluva lot of Carlos parts on this bike! Lou

That was funny Lou. Carlo does make me wonder at times,

Great custom parts you’ve got going there.

A few definitions...
Whore = a bike that won't start. ( sometimes used with the adjective F N )
Pig = a heavy bike that doesn't go, stop or handle. (also sometimes used with F N )
I don't see that bike ever falling into either one of those categories.
Carlo must have confused it with a different marque.
Fifty shades of green with envy....

I've decided to revisit an old post. I was never happy with the Marvics. They are my favorite wheels, but this bike needed something different. I had always wanted to use the modular Oscams that I had, but when I started to strip them it was hell. So after a year of procrastinating, I pushed myself to do them! I will leave the center triangle with a burnished finish, as in the picture. Now I am ready to prep and polish the the outside rim and the raised area where the 'Oscam' name is engraved. This combination of finishes should should look more appropriate, matching the texture of the frame and the polish of the tank. I hope anyway. I am replacing the button head bolts with Probolt titanium Hex/socket race bolts that are drilled for wire. I will never work this hard on wheels again! Lou

Hi Lou!

This bike is really cool, it cant be more hotrod with a belt driven engine! And those wheels, I have never seen them before! Where do the come from and what is the background?

Hi Bjorn, thanks for the kind words. You were nice enough to post all those photos, so I went into my old photos to find you the origins and history of these wheels. I think they are pretty rare, as I have only seen a few bikes with them. I don't think they were a production wheel. The first time I saw these wheels was in a motorcycle dealer in Ohio. They were on a pristine F1b model. Maybe 1988? Never saw them again till early 1994? I saw a pathetic F1 that was in a garage fire. I bought the bike because I wanted a B motor for my A model F1. I always thought that would be the ultimate F1. The looks of the early model with the later 'fine spline' motor. I took the motor out cleaned it, changed fluids and looked her over. Stock but complete. put her in the frame, plugged her in, vroom! started right up. I took the rest of the bike apart. Sold Gary Palmer the frame, which he took and built a championship winning F1, I think that was the frame. The swingarm went to another friend as did the forks. I kept those wheels. Looking at the wheels I realized it was the same bike I saw in Ohio. The guy I bought the burnt bike from said that's where it came from! So sad. They sat on a shelf, were sold to a guy who wanted to use them on a Harley project! Ugh! More years past and a friend of mine (Jane, who did the illustration of my TT1) found these 'cool' wheels at a friends shop and bought them for me for my birthday! I guess they were meant to be on this bike. I just realized that's the history of these particular wheels, not the Oscam history, but I figured you would get a kick out of it. The pictures are cell phone pictures of a print, sorry for the lack of quality. Lou
