Well, it is nice and close and convenient to the starter to save some heavy wire weight. Maybe the battery box could be milled down from inside to make room for some heat insulation for the battery? Paul, you did say the box was heavy, and it does look like there is some room to thin down the material of the components of the box. And I believe those lightweight batteries prefer cooler rather than warmer. MikeV - why are you questioning the shift pattern? and Paul - please don't take offense to these comments. I love it when someone building a bike thinks outside the box. Bill |

He seems to have a lot of builds going on, but I thought this was to be a street bike. So, I was just curious about the reversed shift. No biggee. MikeV |

Mike, the street bike is the blue and orange. I prefer gp shift so even the street bike has it. Bill the battery box is about a pound, the battery is 1.5. There is room for some insulation. Think of all the places Ducati has put batteries over the years, the worst was the 1098 almost against the exhaust, 748 shoved down beside the motor with nothing but hot air around it, or the monsters under the gas tank above the motor with no airflow. I think my location gets a little air. No offence taken Bill, I appreciate all the comments |

huit wrote: Thanks Carlo, I have a space of 10mm from the battery box to the belt. I believe that is enough for safety,I remove 2 screws and the battery box comes off for belt replacement. Hello, I did not want to say this, sorry. Your timing belt, is very close to the register belt tensioner, and because I believe it is, the more low on the cylinder head ..... again ...mumble....mumble..... |
