Post subject:  SD900 Frame - Should I buy it?

I have been offered a SD900 frame w/swingarm and the gas tank. Correct papers also. Many years ago the bike was stripped to build an NCR replica for racing.
The seller want about $500,- for the frame with papers.
IF i buy it, what options do I have? Can a more modern/available engine, wheels&brakes etc be mounted, or am i stuck with finding a bevel engine and go from there?
Everything Bevel is rare like hens teeth in Norway.
I guess restoring the bike with original parts would be very costly and I would be better off just buying a complete SD900.
But if I could build a "hot rod" with more available parts from 91-97SS, monster etc it's maybe possible to get it back on the road.

Happy for advice.
(If someone has an old SD stuck in the shed with no papers, send me an IM... :)

Ciao Carlo. When I visited you and your lovely wife back in 2015 I didn't see any Bevel engines in your "shed", but maybe you have some spare "for the pig" 8-)

I buy old Ducati parts when I stumble over them, so I already have the NOS alternator and clutch cover, and two front discs. So it's a start...

They are motorcycles that are acquiring great value lately,so go ahead.

Thanks, I will get back to you on that one if I buy the frame.
Have been looking around, but there seems to be more or less impossible to get an engine to put in the frame.

I have started a similar project, with a frame F1.I did not wait to have it all, I started the adventure and little by little I have been completing the project. It will be an international motorcycle.

Your build reminds me of a Johnny Cash song, TT. Something about a car built "one piece at a time" over a Detroit car-worker's 30-year career.

He built a Cadillac!
A great song heard in the shop the other day.
I have a horizontal cyclinder in good shape if needed.
