Hi Dick, how about a picture of the cush side of the rear wheel? A few different types of rear cush drives for the Marvics I think. Lou

+1

Yes Dick, nice wheels - good score. What's the rear width?

Hello all,
This rear has a 130mm overall width, and has an alloy spacer to carry a sprocket with a 74mm centre or with no spacer, a 70mm centre if the sprocket is bolted straight to the wheel . Five bolt pattern as you can see.

I believe that is an old Yamaha TZ 250-350 pattern. I have been told by owners of those bikes that they do not use a cush drive, so one does not exist; the sprocket is a direct bolt-on. The only one I know of is for a Yamaha TZ 500 GP; it is the same bolt pattern, and has provision (holes) for five cush rubbers, but they are bolted to the sprocket. Then some kind of outer plate and a GIANT nut are used to hold it on. The problem is that the hub become very wide with all that installed, wider than most older Ducatis. I have seen these (in photos) modified, but have no idea of the width across the widest part of the hub area. I have an 18x4 Marvic rear like this, and some Tecnmagnesios with the same bolt pattern, and same hub width. I played around with a Pantah and a Paso FPS cush like Steve mentioned, and by opening up the center hole a small amount it will fit and bolt on. But, by the time you put all the rest of the Ducati cush parts on the measurement from the centerline of the wheel to the sprocket becomes very wide. The TZ500 will fit better, and there is a seller in the UK who places these parts on eBay now and then. Good luck adapting these. MikeV

Hi Dick,

I also believe your rear is for a Yamaha 250/350 TZ from the very late '80's. For a couple or three years they didn't use cush drive wheels. I used one just like yours on my TT for several years because it's the perfect size for a 160 tire, and Bruce Meyers thought it would be o.k. And it was, but my low h.p. engine would start to loosen even especially carefully safety wired sprocket mounting screws. I made a thru bolt spacer to push the sprocket out where I wanted it, and the Sprocket Specialists p/n for that pattern is #132Z. The bolts should be checked after every day or two on the track. That was one reason I bought Darnold's J B Power wheels on here a year and a half ago. The TZ wheel is now my rain rear. The three bolt brake side hole pattern and pilot dia. is the same as our Ducati Brembo's.

If your front is also for a Yamaha, the rotor mounting hole pattern and pilot dia. also may the same as our Ducati Brembo rotors, but the distance between the two rotor rotor mounting surfaces may be a few mm's less than a "Ducati" wheel. And the depth of the pilot may not be enough to add spacers if you are running forks that locate the calipers for "Ducati" wheels. A "Ducati" Marvic 3-spoke measures 88.5mm across the rotor mounting surfaces.

I'm with you Bill, it's 88.5 between surfaces , for discs with 64mm centres . I've also seen some sprockets advertised with 70mm centres from a TZ125 so it's just a matter of sprocket alignment now.

salut,

Dick
