Hello every duc owner.

For my Ducati Pantah 600 SL maintenance preparation,
how many bars (or psi) is measured the compression pressure into cylinder when engine is rotate by electric starter and full throttle open ?
This value is not refers into instruction Workshop Manual book.

Thanks

Cannot say with any certainty, but somewhere between 135 and 150 psi on a warm engine would probably be good —- readings within 5 psi on the pair. The latter is just as important. MikeV

So what are you getting?

hi, I believe that the most important thing is that the cylinders have the same pressure, of course not negligible, to have an acceptable pressure.

After finish overhaulig ( lapping same valves on their seats , replacement of piston rings ) finally piston pressure measured 150 plus for Horizontal and 140 plus for Vertical cylinder.
A difference about 10 psi. Not exactly the perfect prefer .... but that΄s it now ....! ;)

The reason of overhauling was the big consumption of oil , piston rings found worn. Valves and their guides found in very good condition.
Really it is very strange for me , this piston rings worn fault after 70.000 Km on my Pantah ....... I believed their life should be more than 100.000 Km at least. :?:

Any experience from yours side ?
