I assumed that Verlicchi build the modified frame for NCR on the same frame-mould as the Original Pantah, the similarities between both frames are significant. Probably because the regulations stipulated standard frame possible WITH strengthening (as in old superbike rules).
AND they were just across the autostrada in Bologna
Later they could get rid of the two shocks and use the F1 monoshock rear fork with a little modification.
Better materials, reinforced front engine mounts and repositioning the rear vertical frametube to take load of the horizontal and the strengthening crosstube resulted in better enginemanagement : the right front engine case didn't break (or it lasted longer) then with the flexing Original frame.
Since Verlicchi has other priorities now, others stepped in to produce the frame (hence my suspition that dimensions are "Pantah") like Taraky Racing and others. They are (rather) cheap, one can use most of the standard bodywork (either Pantah or Alazzurra) and finding parts isn't too difficult.
I never got to comparing them, standard frames enough but NO real (and I mean 80's real) NCR.
I think the angle of the head is a bit modified to speed up turning.
Interesting pics down there and GREAT enthusiasts to go and build such bikes to battle the japanese superbikes.
