Hi Filippo... The use of the word float can be confusing. It means side to side or end to end movement, not up and down like a boat. Are you still using the stock 350 cams? Regards... Flattop |

Filippo, Skf made the angular bearings in three verslons, with iron, bronze and resin cage. Difference was the max revs they could turn. Fit crank without shims, measure play and then put 0,10 to 0,15 thicker shims in. After tightening the cases the crank should turn over without help. As said : I did the gearbox before and took it out for easier working. Ciao Ducadini |

Hey Filippo... The bearings do not look like angular contact or roller bearings. Straight cut or helical primaries in the motor? What are the stamped numbers-letters on the 350 cams? Regards... Flattop Took a better look at your photos. Yes.... angular contact bearings. At first sight it looked like black seals on the bearings. |

Those RHP bearings use a pretty thick phenolic ball separator. Would need to see the other side of the bearing to be sure. If the bearing came out easily without heating it would be a good idea to use some Loctite on the outer race when you re- assemble the engine. You don't want the race to spin in the case at high revs/load. Continued use with loose races can damage the cases. |

Filippo, Was the discussion only about the crankshaft bearings or also about the 6207 and 6307 ? You can use the FAG bearings without problem, doesn't have to be SKF. Just be sure to order the correct ones : RS for one side oilseal, 2RS for double side oilseal. SKF has a great site where You can find all info on their bearings. ciao joseph |
