I see Heidenau makes 18" race tires, and I'm curious if anyone on here racing or tracking a Pantah with 18" wheels has any experience with them? Bill http://heidenautires.com/motorcycle-race-tires/
I race Heidenau tires: K44 90/90 18 and k64 130/70 18. they are good and relatively cheap tires. they warm fast whitout tires warmer. But 130/70 18 on Pantah stock wheel is useful because i could not use the whole tire, better a 120, i have now turn on a k 65 3.50 on my rear wheel, still to try but i belive to gain in handling. ciao Filippo

I have a friend who used them on a 650 machine, and at the Ducati Club de France meeting a couple of years ago put it on pole, and won the two races in impressive style.

Looks like they work alright. One thing that puzzles me about them though, on their website they don't designate as front or rear any of their tires, street or race. Are they all universal fitment? I know that some who use a street Avon AM26 universal on the rear of a Norton Commando complain that the tread depth is not very deep and that they wear out quickly. I suspect there may be other construction compromises to make a universal fitment motorcycle tire. Fronts and rears earn their keep in different ways.
