I have been waffling over what to build this year.

From Paul Hewitt I got a beautiful, and absolutely perfect, tank/seat combo for an NCR Pantah TT frame I now have, but I have decided to go slow on that one because I am confused about the proper wheels, forks and some other parts, and want to make it look very "period".

So, I have decided to to start this instead, hoping to complete by September. It is a TT frame for the 900-sized engine, and it came with a matching huge CM swingarm; so I will call it a TT 900 SS. Supposedly was built by a cohort of Golinelli in Italy; pretty decent work. The engine will be upgraded/uprated inside, but not taken to the stage that Steve and Gary do (no 13:1 CR and race gas here). Exterior will resemble a TT1/F1. Have switched to the 900SS aluminum swingarm because everything in the photo front and rear is bolt-on. Like all projects things will change as it goes along. Since this will be a mongrel/hybrid (not a purebred, like Lou's and Carlo's bikes) I will post in the Pantah hotrod section. I plan to post more when there is worthwhile progress. MikeV

First revisions, based on some comments from others. I really wanted to use the CM swingarm that came with the frame, and this will work with some work. Here are the Marvics, and vintage discs will be used. Also, turns out the 2-into-1 exhaust header was for a Monster, not a SS, and have decided not to cut the swingarm or try to fix the header. Thus, headers with dual mufflers are now planned; I have always like symetrical perfection anyway. Really like the TT style seat with this more than the cut-down version. More to follow, soon I hope. Hello, Mike, carlo leoncini , and lou saif, have a bad reputation, the two of them have crept in to the Forum, and the two of them have become two of the models scientists DUCATI!

We have to chase them away from the forum!

Hey friends, hey Mike, I'm kidding!

Your bike is already very attractive, I will make you a question.

You are talking about "GOLINELLI?" Yours is a nice frame.

Maybe the wheels are very modern, but this is your decision, I believe that you can take the route that you prefer.

If you mount or campagnolo Marvic wheels, you can direct you on the vintage, otherwise you can do with what you've done, your is already a good result.

I'll take the responsibility to speak on behalf of his friend Lou, and we say that we are proud to have friends that we consider of connoisseurs DUCATI.

A great big welcome to you, and also to our Lou Saif! CARLO!!!

The original bikes are fantastic, and the work Lou and Carlo do is amazing, and it is great that they are so period correct.

That said I really like your project and look forward to seeing it's progress. Already looks really good. :)

BTW, I like the stand, did you make the bracket that mounts to the engine case yourself?

That's a cool looking Hot Rod. Great how it looks just as good undressed as it probably will when completed.

Thanks for the thoughts from all. Carlo, I have corrected the spelling of Golinelli; my Italian is not as good as your English. Yes, the wheels are modern, but the V head will also be facing the "wrong" direction, and I cannot put Campys and Marvics (or Dymags) on every build. (see photos attached of a TT1/Endurance bike planned for next year) So, this one will be a "what-is-it?" bike. PS: I will need to buy some rearsets for this project from you Carlo.

The engine plate was bought off eBay (Nick Angelides), and is bolted to a Harbor Freight transmission lift. The bolt holes were off slightly, so they had to be slotted, and it will still be too high to touch down with tires, so I will cut/weld a lower version eventually.

I agree with shmokica, the original bikes are great but man do we have some creative craftsmen on this Forum. Good job Mike. Talk about cool parts. Mike are those a set of 'conventional' (non upside down) Ohlins forks in the last pick with the Marvic wheels? Hey not all my bikes are original! I find the custom bikes much harder to build and respect all the efforts of our fellow builders on the Forum. It's great to see all the creativity. Lou

Hey Lou. I think I recognize that as the GULf bike at the 2011 Ducfest/Forum at Barber, but it is looking even better. I will have to look at my old photos, but the proportions seem nicer for some reason. 5/16: Same, but with the fairing lower removed and new exhaust system; must be the camera angle/perspective that makes it look different.

The forks in the second set of photos were obtained from Kenny Dreer. They were for the last version of the Norton that he had planned, before he [sadly] gave up his efforts; his Norton was the closest I came to giving up my 78 LeMans for something new. They are Ohlins, RSU, fully-adjustable, 43mm, with nitride coated sliders; I thought I would never see anything this unique again, so grabbed them when he placed them for sale. The very last TT1/F1 endurance racers had some one-off forks, so I thought using these for a similar bike would be "in the spirit" of the times. I will have to used 320mm rotors but, otherwise, many will have to look twice to find fault with them. MikeV

Hello to all of you, my friends. I enjoyed the considerzione of my friend Lou, he has much reason to say that the efforts of our friends are commendable.

Graeme's bike is very very bad and vicious. the wheels are magnificent, the fork stratospheric, I'd ride that bike, it would be nice to rub the soap of the suit, the asphalt Australian!

I do not know if in this earthly life, will I have to take my desire, to drive racing motorcycles.

I'm trying a lot.

I now, I did get the coffee inside in my garage, if you want to come now, please ring the bell.

HELLO.
