Classic beauty Mike...even if it has newer parts fitted. I echo Lou's comment that the bike(bikes for Lou) is not done yet but we do not have as far to go in travel. See you soon. Here is my progress.

Thanks Cranky. Will add to my collection of photos. I see some really nice/unique parts on that. Lou, we did get some progress photos a while back, but you better get crak-a-lackin. MikeV

Chapter 8: Well, 6,450 miles later it has returned, with most parts still on it. Notice that the trailer no longer has fenders; one fell off somewhere before Nebraska on the return trip, and the other was ready to do the same. It is amazing what vibrations will do over time; lost one windscreen screw, four fairings bolts, one swingarm end cap, the shifter rod was spinning itself apart, and the swingarm pin started to back out to one side. It looks like I rode it there now. We know who's fault it is --- but the trip was well worth it. MikeV Attachment:

Hi Mike, Great minds think alike. I built a trailer very similar to yours. A small Harbor Freight trailer in a box, but mine had the 8" wheels. Towed great, but backed up bad - too short. Easier just to unhook it and back it by hand. Took my 748 to the NC mountains on it one time. At 80/85mph couldn't even feel it back there, but occasionally wondered what the wheel rpm's were. I'm still impressed by your trip. If a future TT/F1 symposium happens at Willow Springs (hint hint), I'll be there. Cross country drives are always memorable. Bill
