Here's a cool picture Ed Milich shared on Facebook from a Facebook photo album of Iain Marshall's. It's at Laguna, and I'm guessing a 1983 Superbike race. We know who #26 is (& #32), but Lou, can you tell us what bike Jimmy is on? And Gary Patton, who I believe is our own "Ducati Gary", is tagged in the photo near #29. A comment on the photo said that #29 is Sam McDonald, which I believe is correct. Ducati Gary - can you fill us in? Ian Marshall's album has a bunch of good period photos in it.

What a great pic Bill. Looks like that DM framed pantah that later had Allazura bodywork. Which eventually became Pete Johnson's bike, which he won a championship on! Anymore pictures? I do not want to be on Facebook but I think I am missing a lot of information I would enjoy. Lou

I know what you mean Lou, it was a big step for me to go on Facebook. I think it was actually Lori that put me on. I feel the same way about Twitter - how the hell does that work? I have no idea how to post a link that would get you to that album without you being on Facebook already. There were 65 pictures in that album and there was one other one that showed Jimmy in the background of a starting grid. I was wondering if he might have been on the Cagiva. I'll try and find it again and copy it to put up here, and I do think you would enjoy some of the stuff that the right people post on Facebook occasionally. There must be one or two people out there that wouldn't mind having you as a "friend".

Here you go Lou, it's thought to be Laguna '84 or '85. Jimmy's on the far left. What do you suppose he's on?

Hi Carlo,
Yes, it might have been one of the Laguna Seca GP's, or an AMA F1 race that could have been held on the same weekend. #2 is Roberts and #43 is Mike Baldwin.

Luckily I did not say nonsense, number 2 seemed Roberts, but I had the courage to say so!

Really interesting thread!

Two things:

Easy to send a link from Foocebook to any email and that does not need to be a Farcebook member, either.

Twitter is a news-feed and although the name is ridiculous, the function is good. Soon we will need an app just to organise all our apps.

Happy Christmas and a fortuitous New year to each and every one!

Yours in sport,

Francis McDermott

OK, three things
