Click for The Full MontyOk ok, don't worry, I am not going to strip off my own threads, I am aware this is not "that" kind of forum But there will be some stripping happening as I build my dream bike, a creation I am calling "The Full Monty, F1 Eleven" Monty refers to Montjuich of course, the theme upon which my bike will be styled and I am sure I don't need to explain what "Eleven" stands for; suffice to say that it validates my claim to describe this bike as the Full Monty! Over the past couple of years I have been collecting new old stock parts to build this bike, 750 F1 chassis, Marvic/Akront composite wheels off an 851 (wider than the Montjuich wheels), Fairings, tank, seat, M1R forks, Verlicchi alloy swing-arm, head lamp, and the list goes on... Recently I acquired the the final ingredient THE MOTOR! I was lucky enough to win a 2007 1100cc Hypermotard S insurance write off with ONLY 950 Kms on the odometer. As new! The bike below is the inspiration for the build, though mine will have 1100 cc, EFI, electronic dash, dual exhausts and wider wheels, stay tuned Attachment:

The donor bike: Short Wheel-base Hypermotard. The auction didn't state the mileage so I assumed that it had no keys, else a flat battery and I might be up for the cost of an ECU to get it running without the original keys. Imagine my delight when bike turned up with keys, and the Odo. said 950 and the engine started! Below is the auction site pics. Attachment:

Note to self: Shortening of the wheel-base does not improve handling Attachment:

FYI; Rear wheel, swing-arm and shock absorber have already been sold. Ping me if you need any Hypermotard parts that I cannot use on this project.

Hi Mike, Does the F1 frame fit on the 1100 without any alterations?

For the eagle eyed amongst you, the handy repair work around the head stem is courtesy of Steve Bridge in New Zealand.Attachment:

How much sideways free play is too much for my Verlicchi swing-arm? Is this too much? The good news is that swing-arm spindle is the correct diameter. Seriously though, has anyone dealt with this problem before?Attachment:
