Hi all, The Ohlins is not working, going to invest in a new Hyperpro or other new Rear Shock. The frontfork is allready fitted with a WP sprinset, what is the best forkoil for the Forcella Frontfork? This winter the SM is prepared for tracks and this weekend I was fitting the full fairing we made 20 years ago. Every time I see this machine I am stunned how cool it looks. Hello Ron Nice progress with the bike. Front fork oil stock is 7-10 weight with oil height of 150 mm. Most racers use 15 or 20 weight and reduce the oil height. What spring rate are you using with the WP springs? Ohlins can supply a shock for this bike in the US and probably also in Holland? I think the original length is about 320 mm but you will want it just a bit longer for track use. I will check to see what the race bikes are running here with that particular swing arm and frame. -cranky- |

Hi Crancky, Thanks for the reply, should visit the forum more often. I bought a nearly new Ohlings for a price worth the experiment. Thanks also for the info on the front fork. A have no idea what the spring load on the WP springs is, have to travel to the US (Westcoast) for work next week and first will finish the polyester so the painter can do his job. Hi all, Had a pre clubrace shakedown of the Santa Monica. Both me and the bike really enjoyed riding on a small mickey mouse circuit near the German border. The bike really does it all right and even the big silencer is not ginving away too much power, actually I did one ride with the open 2 in 1 and I only see a bit less power in the lower regions. The Pirelli Corsa's really felt very good and I actually could brake very late and deep into the corners. So very satisfied and almost ready for the races on the 31st. Almost ! The only problem I found was that the seal's of the 40 mm Forcella fork strated leaking (old age). They are not that easy to find so any suggestions to find them are welcome. Enjoy the pictures! Hi Bill, Thanks for the link, good and clear readup about the forcella fork, my bike came with the special tool to unscrew the seal cap. The seals from Dinse are ordered but someone told me the F1 seals does not work. This weekend I open up the fork and we see what will happen. In the meantime I did found Forcella seals as backup if Stein Dinse's aren't fitting. @Peter, the track is near Emmen in Holland : http://www.testtrackthedinga.nl/ Cu U in Assen indeed. Its going to be a great event, I race in the Euroclassics and in the Bottrevival. The Guzzi in the picture is the Dutch 1995 Champion bike of my friend who organizes this revival. Gents, There is another source for the actual correct seal's also in Germany, Dinse's where Marzochi F1 seal's but not the right ones for the Forcella Fork. Page me if you also search for the correct Seal's. Regards, Ron |
