The frame tube that impacts the velocity stack on my Laguna is bent to clear the velocity stack in order to meet the upper motor mount. On the opposite side of the bike, the same tube is straight. I'm wondering if this is typical on all Lagunas or the Montjuic and F1 for that matter? Does the TT have the Same issue?

My limited observations: On the standard F1 and F3 350cc frames the tube is bent, but without any indentation; on the three special F1s and the F3 400cc the tube is bent and has the indentation. And, on the LS, SM and F3 400cc the muffler hangers are vertical rather than horizontal. Looks like leftover LS and SM frames were used for the F3 400cc. See the photos on third page of the LS Clone build. The "Ducati factory" (not other A/M frames like Harris) TT 1&2 tubes zip up to the cam cog in a straight line. Now someone will show something different I'll bet.

Don't forget how many versions of the manifolds may have been produced, and or used, because they really do matter. My F1 came with bevel clamper/tickler 40mm carbs and manifolds, and the H carb float bowl was shoved down onto the engine to frame bolt lug, even with added spacers, and left an indentation on the case! The upward tilt-up was not right. Even when I bought a set of "correct" new manifolds for rubber mounted carbs the H version had to be cut and welded to a different tilt. It is still on my F1.

I really wonder what is different about your TT Paul. Who knows? But I have seen that done before.

the cause is the intake manifolds, as our friend said, my TT2 has space between the carburetor and the frame tube.

I guess the frame had to be modified in an effort to keep the carbs as horizontal as possible so that the floats wouldn't be adversely impacted. Carlos' bike must have a short manifold tilting the carb a bit more on his TT. Carlos - Is the tube on your Montjuich bent in order to clear the velocity stack?

Thank you Carlos. The tube is bent like my Laguna but rather than being crimped also, it is sliced like Pauls TT. Interesting that the factory found different ways to fit 40mm carbs. Maybe they should have gone back to the old GP1 carbs with remote floats. Could have pointed them straight up in the air.

My Montjuich does have the bend in front frame tube but no indentation. Pretty sure the Montjuich (or at least mine) uses the standard F1 later frame (but of course with the crimped rear frame tube for wider chain line clearance). If you are comfortable with running mesh filters I can confirm that the originals are from fairly soft alloy and can easily be deformed to give clearance. Its still very tight but do-able as you can see in the photo's - Richie.
