Really asking a lot of questions at the moment

So words of wisdom on refitting the alternator nut, torque, Loctite, where to find new lockplate? or are jam nuts better idea, I see they produce them for PASO

Some of the later versions were flanged nuts, with convex/concave washers, and work as well. Just don’t get the much newer and bigger ones for the more modern cranks.

I never bother with locktite on something like this. There is a buttload of torque on these, and the crank spins into the threads (lefty loosey right tighty). You may need to redo this for some reason, and may wish you had not bothered. Frankly, I have used more oil and anti-sieze, with proper torque, than loctite; hate what it does to threads over time and hate cleaning it out.

My manual says 108x118nm, or 75 to 80 lbs. Not that much. But Ducati keeps raising these measurements (alternator and clutch nuts) to astronomical levels, so something under 100lbs will work just fine. There is no reason to over-do this. It is just another engine, not rocket science. If you do a decent job it will not fall apart. MikeV

Thanks for the help, any thoughts on torque for the nut.

Just ordered correct tool for holding the rotor and now have to sit back and wait for shipping, which has been non existent lately, which is probably a relatively small problem given the state of things.
