Hi everybody
I am trying to fit new hoses to a 1986 F3 oil cooler but its giving me the run around .
Measured the thread pitch on the cooler & the engine block fittings as 1.75 & the od as 20.88 mm but I haven't been able to find anything that match's that size . Some forums suggest it is a 22mm * 1.5 but that doesn't fit either . It might be some odd imperial thread or did Ducati make up their own threads in the 1980s !
I could just buy a new cooler with common metric fittings but I have 2 of these coolers in good condition & it seems a waste to scrap them for the sake of a simple fitting .
Can anybody help & tell me what these threads are ? or is there a way to adapted some other fitting to the cooler ?
Thanks

Hi - Try 1/2" BSP(Parallel) - should measure approx. 20.9mmOD / 1.81mm Pitch. Contrary to what the name implies, BSP threads are, and have been, widely used throughout the world! Good luck - Richie.

Hi
Thanks for that Ritchi
I am glad somebody knows their way around the wacky world of imperial threads , who would have thought a 1/2 " could measure 20.9 mm !! Just kidding , I am sure it make sense to those in the know .
Time to dig out the imperial pitch gauge , find the right tap & hopefully tick off another job .
