Anybody have any good ideas for a side stand set up.. I think it has to be right side set up since tt pipe blocks the left and I dont have any frame lowers. This is one of my biggest problems for using this bike as a street bike. ( Besides the darn loud beautiful exhaust noise, and the tight ergos for an old fat man) My current set up works pretty good, but it maybe slightly under engineered :-). On the other hand, its removable, light, and fits in a back pack.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL

Where's the center stand? They don't look right on anything else.

Cant do center stand, frame has been TT'd/cleaned up. Frame lowers and exhaust/passenger mounts have been clipped off. This may have saved some weight, , but I think it was necessary to clear for tt pipe and low battery tray.

Yep, that battery tray uses the engiine lugs that might work. Whatever you do will be very “custom”. Do like the redneck sidestand though. MikeV

In that case then the Team Ducati plank is clearly the best choice. Just don't forget to leave it in first.

Yeah.....the slicks have to go, they are actually almost new 30 year old slicks that were on the bike when I bought it. Looked like they only had a couple of laps on them. I figued I could get by with these to see if/how the bike runs as long as I am just doing slow test/tuning runs (they are probably pretty dangerous) The good problem that I have now is that I have run the bike a handful of times and it is running really great.....I need some new tires.

I have a stock sidestand laying around but this bike came with it's own homemade one.

Thanx for response Clawman......yeah that's the idea. Your set up is the fix I need. It looks like a fab job is the only way. The only other thing I found is there is a universal dirt bike side stand that you can buy. It clamps on to square section swing arms. But I didn't really like the idea of clamping on to that aluminum arm a lot.

Mine leans over a lot. Looks a little uncomfortable. It works. Will likely take it off for track days. Its bolted to the engine, not the swing arm.

Nothing wrong with a generic side stand and modifying it.
