For my F1 project I have found a couple of 750 sport cylinders. They look decent but I have measured the ovality to 0,01mm. This is according to the shop manual the service limit and they should be changed/not used. The taper is also glose to the limit according to the manual.
According to the seller Ducati has a very tight service limit to boost sale of spare parts, and the cylinders have many thousands of KM left in them. (I'm not going to race the bike)
If I use them I'm going to put in a new set of rings, but what do you think of the ovality/service limits?

Keep in mind the 750 Sport has the reversed vertical head so the exhaust port cutout is on the wrong side. As for the wear, it will likely use oil depending on how hard it is run but it won't cause any catastrophic failures or anything. Re-sleeving the original cylinders is not difficult or frightfully expensive and it will give you a fresh bore of the proper size for your new rings.

my paso 750 manual say 0.03mm taper. they are nikasil coated, so really don't wear. 0.01mm taper is fine, most instruments wouldn't measure much less than that.

Whats the cost, and who does this? The 750 Sport cylinders are Nicasil treated. Does the sleeves have that, or are they ordinary steel sleeves?
Wasn't aware of that option.

I am with Brad. That is a small measurement there. It is not worth putting liners in oil/air-cooled 750 Sport cylinders. Give them a try. MikeV
