Howdy,
What is typical cold start up oil pressure suppose to be on an F1. I am starting up in warm summer weather with 15/40 oil and seeing near 100psi at fast idle/2K rpm. That seems really high?

I too have been wondering, but between the classic meetings at Spa and the IOM TT you might not get a reply for a wee while.

Hi cal, what does it drop to when hot? I keep hearing 10psi for every 1000 rpm. Though that's car people telling me this. The epicycle twin had 145psi at 3000 rpm. With a lot off playing with springs and preload I've got it to 50psi at 3000rpm cold. When it's hot it's 25psi at 3000rpm. That's with 15w-40 oil. That's my take on it. Boucher.

Thanx.....I dont know what it drops to when fully hot and at operational speed/rpm yet. I am just getting it running and I have not been able to get any real shake down runs in yet where it is fully hot. Had it running in the garage a few times and gone down the street once just far enough to check the gear box and clutch for operation.

100psi. at cold start isn't unusual. It will drop as the engine warms and will run about 35-40 when hot, 60-70 at high revs. All of the engines I've seen in good condition run about the same pressures from an 85 F1 to aq 1100 Multistrada.
