Thanks for the information gentlemen. Richie-I will try to disassemble mine without ruining it, if for no other reason than to see what failed. In the mean time, I'll keep looking for an exact replacement.

Thank you for the information. I'm curious which Pingel tap you're using. I looked at their site and they have a lot of products. I didn't find one immediately that fit a 16mm tank outlet.

I used those types for years because they are light and flow well enough, salvaged some from 650 Alazzurra salvage ops and used a spritz of lanolin-based anti-rust lube to keep them perfectly functional for years. Ethanol in NA fuels attacks the poor wee things so some lube is really necessary.
These are relatively easy to find and what you've pictured matches the Alazzurra taps I think a variation on Brev-Orlandi.

I now use Pingles. A revelation but that's just function prioritised over form.

Post subject:  UPDATE:Re: Fuel tap repair/replace

So I ordered a couple fuel taps from Bevelheaven and am finally getting around to installing them.

My F1 had a vacuum tap installed on the left (from the seated position) side of the tank, and the aforementioned tap on the right. What is curious is that the tap on the right had an "off" position, as well as on and reserve, which would seem inconsistent with the vacuum tap. Why have a vacuum tap at all if you have another tap with an "off" position? The vacuum tap has a long tube which is obviously so that fuel below it is the "reserve." I'm confused as to whether or not the tap on the right came from the factory, as it would not seem to need an "on" position (would it?).

Further, if I install the two new taps (which aren't really for an F1) I face having two identical taps, which have very little reserve (the tubes are very short). I guess I should just install one and see how it works with the original vacuum tap and make sure I don't run out of gas.

I know I've probably confused the hell out of you all as I've not described it very well, but for those of you still with me. Thoughts?

The tap with vacuum feeds both carburators.
The tap without vacuum have one inlet coming from the vacuum tap
and one inlet coming from the tank.
When motor start vacuum open the valve and feeds both side.
When you are out of gas you open reserve ( tap without vacuum ) and open the
inlet to the tank so it goes to both carb. again.
