 Post subject: Dell'Orto tuning

I feel like I can't be the only one that has the mixture screw for the vertical cylinder trapped against the frame so I can't adjust it. What the heck!!

This mixture screw should be about 1/2 inch behind the frame vertical member. Maybe your rubber manifold is a little too short ?

I have no rubber. The carburetor clamps right to the intake manifold. Both do, it was like that when I bought the bike. After somebody stole my aluminum trumpets I got K&N cylinder filter. The one on the back has an angled fitting to the carb but it still hits the frame. I saw one bike with a 90 degree boot between the carb and an Emgo filter. It fit the space but looked horrible. Thanx for the input.

Just loosen the manifold clamp and spin the carb top inward slightly, or pull the carb off. You should only need to adjust it one time; usually about one and one-quarter turn out. MikeV

PS: Your manifold does look a bit short. Here is from my first F1:
