Hi, I'm after a set of 88mm hi comp f1/ Allazzura pistons. They will have to fit the Allazzura /hemi type heads I'm using. Does anyone have a preference on what type of pistons I should use ? And why? Any help much appreciated. Boucher.

Here is one that would work (with the box and numbers), if you can find them. Notice the dome is larger than the Pantah 82mm dome, but smaller than the one for an F1 (comparison in second photo). I have no idea what that compression will be, but they fit easily inside Pantah combustion chambers. Both are RAM items, often sold by Ducati and others.

I also saw that Carlo used commonly-available flat-top 88 pistons for the Paso, Sport, 750 SS, and M of the 1990s.

Hi all!
>I have the to do the same choice of Boucher.
But do the flat monster 750 pistons can work good on a Pantah 600 head?
Thanks
Filippo

Hello Chris,
Bruce Myer was selling Weisco Pistons through Ed Millich a few years ago for F1, 88mm

Hi Graeme,
Hope you don't mind if I add to your very helpful post. It's Meyers and Milich.
Ed Milich can be reached at ed@ducpower.com.
And that's as technical as I can get when it comes to engines.
Bill

I built a few of the allazura headed 88mm combinations in the past. Makes nice torque. Any piston with a dome will probably be too much compression. Flat top pistons from the later sport/750ss will require machining to the 82 mm combustion chamber and squish area reangled for the smaller heads. Even then it will give a relatively high compression ratio (upwards of 11.5/1). The motors I built were adjusted to around 10.5/1 for good pump gas. Ill include a picture comparing the 2 pistons. The modified piston has the squish reangled to match the 650 head and the compression ratio adjusted.

Maybe that is what Carlo did too, Cranky. I know somewhere in here are photos of an engine he was building using these pistons. And, let's not forget that the combustion chamber must be widened to the 100+/-mm of the 750cc engine from only 95mm of the 650-500 engines so that the 750 cylinders will fit. Gary Patton will also attest that a good machinist must do this work! MikeV

pistoni paso. I mounted axle Cam ", for this reason I had to do more 'space on the valve seats on the top of the piston.
