hello guys, is it necessary to modify steering head column to fit M1R fork on a 750 F1 Frame?
a M1BB was on my frame and was plug&Play, M1BB bearings seems to be lower than the paso units.
can somebody measure steering length on a paso frame?

pantah, TT are 160 mm
F1 is 175 mm

I have not measured recently, but these are rough measurments, as I remember: F1 stems are 7 inches from bottom of lower bearing to top of upper bearing. Pantah, TTs, Paso, and 750 Sport are about 6 & 5/8th inches; the Paso and Sport have special thick aluminum spacers under and on top of the bearings. Pantahs and F1s use a 26mm bearing surface/stem diameter, and the Paso and Sport use 25mm bearing surfaces! All use bearing races with a 52mm outer diameter. So, no there is no direct route with the M1R or Sport triple clamps; they also have no provision for the top nut/fairing rod holder. It is easier to have the F1 clamps line-bored for the 41.7mm tubes, as I, and others, have done. Finally, because of the several [many] tube lengths, depending on which set of M1Rs you have, there may or may not be a lot of stanchion visible above the top triple clamp. MikeV

You mean the 40mm M1B legs fit into the 40mm F1 triple clamps, right? But the 41.7mm M1Rs? MikeV

Does la tige mean that the M1BB that came on his bike already had M1BB triple clamps on it?

They could have been made special for the F1 back in the day.

I'm thinking of getting a pair of M1Rs for my F1.

Anyone remember what the different lengths of all the different M1Rs is?

.

I personnaly fit the m1bb without modifications on the f1 frame.
I'm waiting for a pair of unmodified paso triple clamps, I will tell you'...

I seem to recall a nice gentleman listing the lengths of the different M1Rs a couple of years ago. (750 Paso, 906 Paso,851,etc)

But the "search" feature didn't seem to pull it up.

Anyone remember who it was?
