My TT rep (750) has 900ie cams and these are good riding the 45 minutes to good roads in the hills behind Brisneyland

Thanks Graeme, I think I will look into a set of later model camshafts...

Meanwhile I hope it is not too cold to ride your bikes down in Tassie, though I do envy having nice roads at the end of the driveway! ;)

when i first put the fcr 39 on minnie monster with the 750 motor the pumps weren't working. it was rideable and all that, but opening the throttle with any speed was a one way ticket to bogsville. so no wheelies. the sensible might point out that wheelies or the ability to slam the throttle open are not required for a fast road ride or track work. but it was rather boring. with the pumps going it was much more fun.

i'd have reservations about putting non pump carbs onto a road bike. even part throttle roll on was better with the pumps, and if you need to nail it, you can.

cam duration will also impact it, but minnie only has 900 carb cams, which are not overly big.
