I would like to improve my front end on my race F1, some ways to do it: - exchange with a M1R....every ducatisti do it in france.... - exchange with a 41 mm honda 600 CBR fork ( with cartridges) .......what a shame on this bike ( but I have a Kokusan ignition....), but cheap and very efficient... - re-valving my M1BB with Racetech or Yss valves what do you think about it? experience? advice? cheers Philippe

Ciao Philippe,Now I'll tell you what I think of your problem: I have been in Sweden and did a race with a tt1 with Marzocchi M1R 41, I must say that the bike had never been racing on the track, and I put some of my (little) experience to make everything work, and the biggest problem was the fork.
On the disconnect was going to compress to bottom, beginning to hop around and not being able to stop in time to make the most the curve.
I replaced the oil with a thicker oil, both on the right and on the left, then I made the adjustment of the spring by more hard.
If I had even more time I would still hardened spring.
The ducati f1 or tt1, are many times updated with dual-piston calipers much more powerful, and larger disc brakes, but I believe that the chassis of the bike can get up to a certain point, then goes into alarm.
I think if you work on M1R, you will not ever get to a fork with the internal cartridge, but I think even if the rules are the same for all, M1R is an excellent fork.
This is my humble opinion.
Friendship with Charles, Leoncini.

Thanks for your interest carlo, I think that M1bb is a little bit limited for track use, apart if re-valved. Gold Valves are unavailable for this fork, but YSS are, but no experience with them... M1r are probably a good fork, because 80 percent of TT's in france are equipped...and as I don't like to do as everybody ( I run a F500 laverda, too:D ), I will try to revalve or to put a japanese fork.... I will think about it during my holidays in barcelona from tomorrow!!!!
If somebody has experiences with yss valves....

Today I was in a workshop of a motorcycle mechanic friend of mine, I've been paying attention inside of a window, the settings that were on sale inside the cartridge, I ask you: But if we put in a range from 41.7 a domestic a modern fork? I think that's enough to make the top cap with the usual diameter and perhaps lose a bit of time. I have always raced on a single 500 but now I have abandoned it to run with my MORETTI 750.
I have a fork Italy magnesium, but I'm thinking of a little work, When I will do this project, I'll tell you everything.
Hello and I hope your project you can accomplish much good
Ciao Dall'Italia. Carlo-

why dont you get and pair of showa cartridges and fit them to your forks? keeps the looks , and you end up with modern tuneable suspension

Previously I used M1R on the Guzzi Lemans and now use this model also in my TT replica. I think it is a good choice.
