I measured the Yellow Bike I spare oil cooler which is a Earls, it's 11.75" (outside with the tabs cut off) x 4" x 2". This is a tight fit inside a F1 fairing, not sure it would fit a TT. I have also had good luck with running two oil coolers in series, but you will need to make custom oil lines.

Yes the Earl's wide 10 row oil cooler would be a tight fit into my F1 fairing (after removing the tabs), but it would fit.

I have calculated that Earl's narrow 10 row cooler gives a volume of 24 cubic inches, which is only 33 1/3 % more than the OEM cooler on my F1.

The wide 10 row cooler gives 54 cubic inches which is 3 times the volume of my actual cooler.

Considering that my engine already got quite hot when riding at a slow pace and considering the more than $3000 invested to boost the engine, I think I should go with the Earl's wide 10 row cooler and use 100% synthetic oil.

But I will have to adapt my actual oil pipe fittings to the 10AN female o-ring ports of this cooler.

I have now installed the Earl`s wide 10 row oil cooler that I have bought from Jegs High Performance products (parts # 361-41000 at $94.99).

In order to connect the OEM oil lines to this new cooler, I have bought 2 caps going into the cooler's holes, drilled a hole on top of them and tapped them in order that my M8 X 1.0 banjo bolts screw into those holes.

I have also fabricated 2 brackets to fix the larger cooler to the OEM cooler holder and I have used some tie raps to attach the cooler to my brackets.

I plan to fill the new cooler with oil before starting the engine.

Hoping these informations will help someone else who wants to increase the OEM oil ooler capacity.

Maybe we will meet next Autumn at the 2015 Symposium, depending on the dates that the organizers will choose for this event.

Now that a new large capacity Earl's oils cooler has been installed on my F1, I filled it with oil before starting the engine.

One precision here : because the piston rings are new, two mechanics have recommended that I use mineral oil during the first hours of running of the engine in order for the new rings to place themselves. And to switch later to synthetic oil.

So, filling my new oil cooler with Castrol Grand Prix 20W50 oil, I noticed the the oil does not flow easily in the cooler.

Should I switch to 10W40 mineral oil ?

Any advice ?

Either would work but 10W40 will be easier to fill the cooler with.
