I rode my F1 on the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride San Francisco yesterday and sadly she did not make it past the first stop. After trawling through city streets in temperatures in the mid 90s for 45 minutes we stopped at Civic Center Plaza for a break. Upon trying to start her for the next leg of the ride she was dead. I suspect a fried voltage regulator due to the heat. It was brutal on both bike and rider as I never got out of 2nd and spent most of the time shifting from 1st, to 2nd, then to neutral. My left hand was barking at me.

Sorry to read this.

I rode in one of those slow procession rides once. Once. That was enough parading for a lifetime.

I hope you get the F1 back up and running soon!

So after putting the F1 on a Battery Tender for a few hours she started right up and showed 14v at the battery above 2000 RPM.

Thoughts as to why the heat would cause her to not start? It was as if her battery was dead....she'd not even crank over one rotation.

I got tired of replacing the crappy and expensive Ducati regulators. I replaced the regulator with a Mosfet FH020 kit from Roadster Cycle http://www.roadstercycle.com/ It is a wonderful upgrade. I also went on the DGR ride Sunday in Cleveland, but on my Benelli SEI not on my F1.
