Hi all, I was wondering if the later white faced tachos from the 900ss/750ss models fit the first F1 with its Nippondenso OE. By fit I mean the drive only. Cheers

It should work. Not sure if the cable to tach thread size is the same but all of the cyl. head drives are the same so with a cable from the Veglia you will be golden.

The F1b/750/851/900 Veglia tachs show 1:6.5 RAP on the back. I believe the NDs on the Pantahs are also 6.5, but they are not marked. Some of the older (bevel?) tachs were 1:4.0, and so were the Paso and Elefants---I believe. You can pull your tach drive off the H head, and counts the splines --- it should be about 14 (coarse) I think, not the 21-spline (fine) version that goes with the 4.0 tachs. If your original tach is marked 6.5 then the newer ones will certainly work as long as your cables ends match; you may have to buy a new cable with the big spinners at both ends. Is that clear as mud? MikeV

I've had a 900 tach on my 86 F1 for years now with no problems. It does sound great as it passes 16,000 rpm! [JOKING!]
