US$5,000 The seller said he had been asking US$10,000 (he has had them for the past 20+ years) but he decided to have a 50% off sale to move some old stock back in October. Anyhow I would have seriously considered paying $10k - else what price for what are the rarest Factory Ducati race winning forks ever - plus they represent the very last factory 2 valve racer! Serious cool in my book athleticroman wrote: On 7 November 2014 12:02, Storz Performance <admin@storzperf.com> wrote:
Hi Mike, You've un-earthed some obscure front fork history! Unfortunately we don't have any of these forks in our inventory. You might try contacting GCB Special Forks in Italy, but generally they are not responsive about product inquiries. We showed these fork in our 1989 catalog, but I'm not sure that we ever sold a set. I was at Laguna Seca in July of 1987 when Lucchinelli used them to win the race there. I asked him how he liked them and he replied that they were "very smooth". I do know that his bike with these forks is in the Ducati Museum in Bologna. Sorry, I don't have any info about GSG shocks. Kind regards, Steve Storz

WOW! unreal Mike, what a great find. Did they come from Japan? Congratulations. I thought about them for a while but didn't have the cash. You might have to make that front fender. Can't wait to see them on a bike. Lou

Easy to see where the first generation 851's front fender evolved from. Bill

Lou, these are the NOS forks from Japan you probably had your eye on? Sorry Though they are not the collezionegiappone forks which may still be for sale?? What price were they advertised for when you enquired? Bill, no I haven't tested any adapters on them yet... or the rotors... or the wheels... I think you are correct on the sizes but if anyone has plans to visit the Ducati Museum it would be handy to confirm the correct sizes
