This fellow has two nice sets, fronts and rears, of these. Not vintage appearance, but look like true bolt-ons for the older forks and rotors. Also rare for something like this to have the Ducati cush hub. Not expensive either. Aesthetics aside, I'm thinking a 5 1/2" rear might be a tad wide for a Pantah. That seller has rotors up now, and sounds like more stuff coming. |

Robbie gets his fastest lap times (on the Harris TT) with a 5.0" rear and a 160 Michelin DOT rear. But fresh 160 size race tires are harder to come by now days, although they may be making a come back. In general, we all do our best with what we're most comfortable with. If that means a 180 on a 5.5" to trust your tires, then that's best.

I use a 160/60 Dunlop Q3 on the F1, and a 170/60 Michelin Pilot Power on the Tecnomagnesio 5.5 inch rear on the LS replica. Both are close to the chain, but clear it well. The Dunlop is bigger and heavier than the Michelin, in spite of the smaller size designation. But both seem good. Had a 185/55 Avon on the F1 once, and had to take a utility blade to the sidewall edge! No more. Having said this PG, you and Robie are Real racers, and my aspiration is to survive in the “B” group at track days. MikeV PS to reply below. I will add one to my vehicle tool box. |

A sharp old school carpenter's hand wood plane makes shaving chain clearance off a tire very easy. |
