Cranky my guess is 76 or 77 900SS. It has the shaved Brembo F08 twin bleed calipers and the Ducati Electronica ignition. What are the engine and frame numbers?

77 900SS looks rough but actually very original with 6K miles...was original owner.
He didn't like the color or the fairing, clipons so had it converted a long time ago.

No worries Cranky! That's amazing. The best I've found walking around my neighborhood was an overpriced Vespa that needed restoration. Living close to an old Ducati dealer is the key. I wonder what else lurks in the garages in your neighborhood?

The more I look at this bike, the more interesting. So for all the 'Harris' experts out there. The swingarm on the bike is gusseted by the shock mount and has a single pinch bolt at the eccentric axle holder. Also a single piece of tubing to the shock mount. I've had a few other Harris swingarms, none of them are like this. They all have two pinch bolts at the eccentric and two pieces of tubing to the shock mount. Pictures included. Was one for the street and the other for racing? The spare arms I had were all from race bikes. my 'new' Harris is a street kit. Lou

Here is another version with a pinch bolt top and bottom. The Harris products were all silicon bronze brazed were they not? Could explain the higher cost.

Hi Flattop, I'm sorry, I meant two on either side, one on either side. The swingarm you posted is what mine looks like on the barn find. The bronze brazing is so beautifully done on these bikes. So yes the prices were high for a kit. Another strange thing I'm trying to understand is the clutch housing. So in the paperwork that came with the bike they mention a 'heavy duty' clutch, but nothing else. So here are some pictures. It is, what seems to be a standard cover that has been machined a bit. The top, by the filler has been milled down a bit I think. I think they just used later clutch internals. I will change the cover for a cable operated one the I have so I don't have to worry about the seeping oil out of the filler, which it has. Any comments? Lou
