Hi,
Do you think that's an earlier photo than yours ? The megaphone looks longer and no M1R's

Hi Cal, I know exactly when that photo was taken. After Jimmy won the 1985 BOTT race at Laguna Seca, my friend Giovanni Caruso (a very good friend of Reno, bike racer and enthusiast) bought the bike after the race. Reno then proceeded to remove the Kayaba RGB front end and replaced it with a 40mm Forcelle Italia. He also remove the endurance tank and put on the aluminum tank. Lucky for Giovanni and me the endurance tank began to leak so he swapped tanks back with him. That is Giovanni's driveway in Long Island. He also took the TT1 exhaust and put a Bub system on it. I still have the Bub somewhere, not in very good shape. I put on a replica TT1 exhaust. I'm also putting an RGB front end back on her. Other than that it's pretty much how it raced back in the day. I've done some other things to it but mostly just to clean her up. Lou

Hey Lou,
Thats cool!! Who do you think is the Californian hanging out there?? I can't tell what the car is from the grille(the car in the driveway)....an import I think?? Maybe a Renault, Sterling, or something.

On the bike/the tail, if you look close you can see 26 behind/underneath the 1.

Hi Bjorn, interestingly enough, about 20 years ago I bought the original set of wheels and the rain set as well. They are EPM's (6 spoke). I bought them from Giovannni as he had sold the bike and kept the wheels! Years later he found another rear in his attic that was a spare. Then another few years go by, and Bruce Meyers of BCM fame said he had a spare front EPM that he bought from Giovanni. I bought that one as well. When I bought the bike, it had 17 inch Marvics. I think it was fate that I ended up buying that bike. I also had the aluminum oil catch bottle that was once on the bike. Jimmy was from Long Island and Reno from New Jersey so bikes and parts were spread around the area. When people were ready to throw stuff out they would always call me to see if I was interested. I think that's why I ended up restoring a bunch of Jimmy and Reno's old bikes, I saved all the old parts! This bike started life as a 'factory' TT2 that became the 1983 twins gp champ in the AMA. She has the rare magnesium hydraulic dry clutch and endurance tank. Lou

Those EPM:s in magnesium are pretty rare, are they not? What sizes?
Google directed me to Magnis hompage, do they still manufacture them today? Seems like 18 inch only however.

The sizes on my bike are 16x4.25 rear, 16x3.5 front. I have 18inch rears and 16 inch fronts. They are nice wheels. The finish is durable so you rarely seem them oxidized. Never heard of one failing. I do think Magni still makes them, but I've never tried to order. Lou
