Post subject:  Overdue build report

[Greetings all,

It's taken 3 or 4 years to take this bike apart, powdercoat the frame and collect all of the bits to get it to this point - which is to say I actually rode it around the block for the first time. And I want to thank the guys that keep the forum going - without the help and information I've had I really could not have got this done. As you can see I have pilfered liberally.

Thanks,

Gene

Very nice work Gene! I love those wheels. I think I have the interesting free form plate figured out shown in the photo labeled "brake mount". It's for the torque rod - correct? Are you using the stock master cylinder and mounting? Please post a photo of the whole rear brake set up when you get there. That's a beautiful Fox shock. Is it an older one?

Bill,

Sorry it's taken me forever to find some time to get pics of the brake and rod. I'm trying to have the bike ready for the AHRMA event in Millville in a couple of weeks. The hanger and rod are from Glynn Robinson with the original rear master and caliper. It is an ancient Fox shock that came with the bike. I had it rebuilt by Thor Lawson and extended it to fit the swingarm (thanks Mike V) with some hardware from McMaster and a rod end from QA1 - an idea that came from one of your posts - so thanks for that!

It's looking like you'll have some Pantah company at NJMP. Maybe Cranky or Lou can elaborate.

Gene,

Will you be racing this bike with AHRMA at NJMP?

Cranky, Lou, Bill,

What Pantah event will be going on? I looked at the NJMP site and saw nothing specific.

I raced my Pantah last year at NJMP and took 2 firsts. Unfortunately life and work has dictated that I will not be able to race this year. I hope everyone has a good time.

Dave
