I came across this while cleaning out a garage! 16 inch epm wheel, with a spline to mount the planetary gears. The company was Dipi Freni. Has anyone had any experience or seen it before? Carlo has sent me a photo of it mounted on a bike! Paul

I have seen this on a bike at the Barber museum. The brake rotor spins in the opposite direction of the wheel under braking, yes? I will post a picture tomorrow, I have it at work. What an awesome find, I think they were a bit too heavy. Lou

I saw a setup like that on bevel raced at Summit Point in about '79. I think it was a guy from Canada. Did a double take when it rolled by, one of those That Don't Look Right kind of things. It was an attempt to eliminate front end dive when braking, but on a bevel that was one of the ways you got the bike to turn! About 10 years ago somebody in Fla. revived the idea on a more modern bike but it seems to have gotten nowhere.

No problem Paul. You can still buy EPM wheels if you need a rear. I think it's a pretty cool period piece. Hi Bill, yes that is our friend Jane. For my 50th birthday she treated me to a plane ticket to the Barber Museum! That is a good friend and a damn good racer and mechanic for those of you who don't know her. Lou

I knew it, you can almost hear the wheels churning.

Not to change the subject, but - what happened to your Pantah project, Paul? I kept expecting to see it at one of the events this year...

Steve, The Pantah is delayed because of the valves, then I got involved with building a 350! I am just waiting for valves then I can complete pantah. No track time at all this year! Paul
