Guys,

Have you seen or followed this? I am lurking a bit around here but could not find it yet so want to share this. Saw the bike Jan de Vos build and saw some film footage and its a serious IoM Classic TT bike. I've heard Pat Slinn is also going to the Island and guess we all would love to be there too.....

Hope to stay up to date.

Cheers, Ron

Yes I will be in the Isle of Man for the classic TT, it will be my Fifty something visit to either the TT or the Classic / Manx, the last three years being the Classic / Manx.

I am really looking forward to seeing the RedFox Ducati that Michael Rutter is to race in the F1 Classic race, Redfox have invited me to their workshop. I think that the press report saying that Michael 's F1 machine is a exact replica of the TT F1 that I built for his father Tony to finish third on in the 1984 F1 TT and third in the world championship is a little ambiguous !. I believe that the engine capacity of the Redfox Ducati is around 1100 cc, which is permited under the "modern" formula regulations.

I really do hope that Michael has a good trouble free four lap race, ( the 1984 race was six laps ) and ounce again a Ducati will be victorious.

I,ve just checked out the Red Fox bike, and what a first class piece of kit it is. For the classic tt,and the regs allowing big motors,as long as they look the original, could we see a repeat of Mike,s 1978 tt win,you never know, the bike might just spring a perfect surprise for Ducati,i hope so. It,s up tp 1200 cc with over 100 bhp at rear wheel, and on looks alone,it,s a stunner. Good luck to Micheal Rutter and Red Fox for giving it a go.

Hi all,

Some more picks, listened to the race on Manx Radio and the Duc soundedmighty. Michael finished 10th and had a lap 120+ average so the campain to honor his dad went really well ....
Actualy I think it put it even more in perspective. Tony had a 750 cc F1 bike and Michael a 1200 CC acording to Redfox. The current F1 bikes also where big bored 4 cilinders but back in the day Tony finished 2nd and lapped a 111 Mph competing (officially 750 cc's). So a very big bow for Tony and Pat and what a great way to honor your dad and really one of the most underestimaded 4 time world champion!

Cheers, Ron
