I am certainly looking forward to seeing your bike at NH Lou. When I collected the 600cc F2 motor from Ducati in early 1983, ( see Mikes photo's) it was in bit's and in a cardboard box ! & needed a lot of work to make it a runner. The castings were in Magnesium. I was told at the time that Ducati had only made Five of those engines with that dry air cooled clutch. I know that TR's motor is still in the UK, ( now, that is a long story ), there is one in Finland, one in Italy and the one that Lou now has, so where is the Fifth ?.

For the 1983 IOM TT the factory did not have a 24 litre tank, so we had to "modify" a 20 litre F2 tank, basically the bottom was cut out of it and modified to hold 24 litres.

I'll just show you these pictures taken from a book that was given to my brother when he ran in the league tt2, by the importer of ducats in Japan.

You see Reno Leoni, perhaps you also know the other drivers.

Ciao Lou, ciao a tutti amici.

Carlo

Hi Pat, this bike was in Italy and is now in the States. Is this the same bike you counted in Italy? This was Mauro Borella's bike and is now Brian Larabure's bike in California. Pat, this bike was at Barbers in the TT tent. It use to have black Campy wheels and now has black Marvic 17 inchers. Lou

Well, as I recall Lou, you've done just a tad of polishing in your day, but what I really want to know is if you're going to let us all ride it at the Loudon event?
Bill

I was Bill, but after that polishing comment.....! OK Carlo I hope I get all these names right #8 on the Harley is Gene Church, #266 our buddy Malcom Tunstall, #37 BMW Harry Klinzmann, #155 Harley the late great Roger Reiman, #71 on the Harris Ducati the legendary Dave Roper, #47 Harris Ducati I think is Jeff Elghanayan, #99 our great friend and awesome racer Ronnie Spordone and he still owns that bike, #68 Moto Guzzi Sharon Fridus (the ponytail is a dead giveaway), #59 Ducati Don Conklin, #559 Ducati Mark Carrozza, #87 Ducati Vernon Davis?, hey Pat who is the guy on #106 oh yeah, Tony Rutter, and #1 on my new/old bike is Jimmy Adamo. I couldn't make out the other Ducati either 600 or 900. It's amazing what you can do with old Daytona programs! Lou

Rats - me and my big mouth! Now that I think more about it, it was just a bent aluminum fairing bracket that you just made. You'll reconsider about riding it, right?

Hi Pat, do you mean the handsome, legendary tuner Pat Slinn himself! Yes Bill, I'll think about it. Lou
