Great looking Bike! It looks like an Olympic 100 meters swimmer... lean, athletic and muscular, coiled like a spring on the start box, ready for the starter's gun, set to dive into the pool... GO!!!

Lou, the tank! Are you aware of how rare it is? That is the only F1 24-litre tank I have seen in private hands. The only bikes I have ever seen pictures of with this shaped tank are in the Ducati Museum.

Pat Slinn pointed out to me recently that the F1 category specified a 24 litre tank and F2 specified a 20 litre tank. My observation is that all reproduction TT/F1 tanks are based on the F2 specification 20 litre tank. (And I want to build an F1 but have not been able to find the correct tank)

I think that the 24 litre tank adds about 50 HP worth of muscle to the looks of the bike!

So that begs the question, can you make an impression of your tank that I can pass onto my fibreglasser here in Australia? - just trying out my luck here... ;) Cheers,

And yes, that is a nice addition to your collection.

Lou:

What Mike said! Good karma all around. As I mentioned on the phone, I think it's amazing that you have the two machines in the fabulous period video - do you think Reno still might have the hammer?

Congrats again!

Hey but it's great! You bought something very very important, I do not want to know how much money will it cost, but you've spent your money well.

That bike is a check that is reevaluated every day.

You make the photo qualla bike, you talk about that bike, teaches you to all the people who do not know the story, as is the story.

Makes the most of your purchase, for you, and all persons who had the good fortune that year, a large Passionist like you, take the bike with great care, and allow more generations to be able to see what they were capable of do, small artisans, but with creativity and a passion that overcomes the boundaries of time.

I'm very very happy with your purchase.

You, you merit the best, Lou!

Thank you Carlo, and yes Athleticroman the tank is very rare! The tank and clutch are the two very rare bits on this bike a long with the history. I will definitely consider making a mold of the tank and will keep everyone on the Forum informed. A small correction Steve, Ralph owns the Cagiva GP bike in the video, The Allazura was parted, although I did have some bits as well as Cranky Roller from that machine. Pete Johnson won a championship with that Aly, It's amazing that video exists. One more fun fact, I bought the original EPM wheels that were on this bike over ten years ago hoping I would one day own the bike. I will probably be putting those 16 inchers back on her. Lou

Hi Jon, yes I am going to try and bring it back to #26 condition. Another interesting part of the bike is the beautifully made chromemoly swingarm. It is a one of a kind made by Albert Bold, who is well known for his MV Augusta work and welding and machining expertise, as well as being one of the nicest guys you could meet. Most of Reno's bikes that I remember had custom moly swingarms. Brian Browns TT that was raced by Adamo had a Verlicchi aluminum arm. Lou

More on that special dry clutch on your new bike Lou, this one below looks like an earlier version from 1983 (is it sand cast?)... I think Pat has some info about this? Pat?

Hi Lou,
This rare piece of history couldn't have ended up with a better owner. We can't wait to see it wear the famous #26. Hope to see it at Loudon for the next symposium.
Rich

Thanks Rich, she will definitely be at the 4th Symposium. Yes Mike, the clutch is the same sand cast as in the pictures, just a lot worse for the wear. It has been repaired and the horror of polished magnesium cover. The clutch will need to be gone through. Hopefully Pat will help out on this one. I really just want to return some of the original parts to the bike and preserve it the way Adamo raced her. As Carlo would say for 'future generations'. Lou

I am pleased you plan to put the 16 inch wheels back on. Nothing says "Circa 1985 motorcycle" more than a set of 16 inchers. They define the era.
