I have often wondered who is/was the maker of these frames --- with the single curved tube going over the cam ends? MikeV

I have pondered the same question and have just learnt the answer this easter at the BBB.
Check out News and Events - 2014 Broadford Bike Bonanza - Around the Pitts at the BBB for the details...

It's a Verlicchi ;)

I asked Bob Brown what frame is that, he said: "It is the later type Verlicchi, the loop above the cam makes it stronger" or words to that effect. Then we got to talking about the 1980s after that...

For those who don't know Bob, he is Australia's "Pat Slinn" (hi Pat :P ) a top Ducati Pantah tuner. See the second pic for details.

The bike below was campaigned in Europe by Alan Cathcart (Who was also at the BBB - keep an eye out for his write up of the event in your favourite Alan Cathcart syndicated bike mag) and ate 4 valve Ducatis for breakfast! 8-) Does anyone have any photos from back in the day?

Below: Legendary Ducati race bike tuner Bob Brown with Kevin Magee - 500cc Grand Prix racer.
