I just realized that I must have blown the Bimota DB1 section away after the forum crashed a few years ago, so I'll have to post here in the TT1 section..

I just managed to finish the DB1 the day before the Mosport event, but the dyno was a few weeks ago. With the converted heads we're doing out of Montreal, we got - get this: 92 rwhp and 63ftlbs torque with the Meyers 790 kit at 12:5:1 compression. Robbie Nigl's paintwork was outstanding and after battling a bunch of niggling packaging problems, it went into the trailer with the TT1.

So, what's it like compared to a TT1 on the track? I know it's heresy on this forum, but maybe better.. Agile as hell and surprisingly stable at triple digits and bumpy surfaces. The stock DB1SR Marzocchi M1Rs were perfect. Surprisingly supple and comfy on the track..

Fast. ..And it might actually be lighter than my TT1 (I'll weigh them tomorrow).

Both bikes don't do much at all under 6,000rpm with the open pipes so I had to work on corner speed to stay with the 15/37 gearing. The DB1 pulled 9,500RPM with ease on Mosport's long, uphill back straight and the TT1 pulled a respectable 8,600RPM. It's interesting to note what Mike Weber's exhaust design did to torque delivery with the Montjuich cams - almost civilized..

Almost impossible to find the fuel taps and front carb tickler - and really stupid difficult to get at the fork innards. Bodywork has to come off in order to adjust shock rebound. Other than that, no complaints. I arrived Saturday morning to find a small puddle of fluid under the right fork leg and had to change out the seal under the rebound adjuster.

Very cool bike - it's gonna be really hard deciding which one to sell..

Hey, thanks for the compliments guys!

There's video of the dyno time on YouTube at http://youtu.be/w5hU55YhUYY and http://youtu.be/_tVaaTTa3jA. You can see it stumble when I attempted to start the run at 4,000RPM..

,,Looking forward to running it again at Calabogie in a few weeks.
