Post subject:  Australian manufactured four valve haed.
During 1984 MCN in the UK published a story and the blue print of a four valve head that was manufactured in Australia for the Pantah based motors. Does anybody have a copy of the article and blue print please ?

bob brown did it, he had it displayed at the festival of italian motorcycles one year. was quite cool. ran honda cams maybe? ask bob.

Hello Pat, I had never seen that bike, very futuristic project, my friend Moretti, the frame builder that made me replicas, told me that when in 1985 he made the first deltabox aluminum, that a big problem is that not cooled the engine block, practically new aluminum chassis was from not being able to touch as it was very hot.

The chassis was great, but the heat so much.

Pretty sure the bike was featured over a couple of pages in the Ducati 'Untold Story' Cathcart book with the Luccinelli 618 4-valve on the cover, but dont have my copy to hand (the books worth having plenty available on the web) . The images up at http://www.pantah.eu/sites/racing/brown.htm look familiar though.

Well, well, well,
That seems like a long time ago, in a world far, far away. It was a bit of a self administered protest vote against the 888's in the battle of the twins at the time. However, as we all know now, you simply cannot stop the march of time. The bike won the MCN special of the year so they gave me a free trip to Daytona for the week in 1990. Brilliant !
As luck, (and history) would have it, the Duconda was there too so I had the chance to get a long conversation with the engineer who created it, and also brought it from California with the rider. I remember they drove across non stop with the pair of them taking turns at the wheel on the non stop 52 hour journey ( 17 hours across Texas). He took great pains not to weld anything during the build to get the Duc and onda bits to match up together. Some task.

I still have the old 4 valve special. I suppose it will be buried with me. Whilst packing everything up to come to NZ last year I stuck a new battery on it and lit it up on the rollers. Very loud and VERY nostalgic.
