Hi all. Love the site, inspiring in many different ways...

I'm starting to work on my first full custom bike based on 90' 900SS, but attempting to bring together some of my favorite elements of race ducs of the past.

One thing I am certain of - it will have some variation of Imola style high pipes - thigh skin be damned.

Another key design element is endurance style lights. I have a few ideas kicking around, but I haven't found much detailed info to work off of.

So, if you all would be so kind, I'd love to see some examples of lights from this era. Photos, drawings, etc. of lights, brackets, quick releases, whatever would be great. Also, any info on light housings that could potentially be run with high / low beams would be helpful as well, as this will be a street bike.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers

Tom

I have made the bracket and the lights i used are genuine carrello lights. They have been the hardest part to get for my bike.It took me 18 months to find a set i could restore.

i'm after light info too. no need to be original tho, just something that works.

mine's a 93 400ss with f1 front and race style rear. seems to be a mod growing in popularity.

Thanks guys - ^^^ those look pretty sweet! I don't care too much about being true to some spec with the lights - as long as they are clean looking, hi-low beam capable, black and could potentially be used in a "pod" like some rally cars have...

sorry to be off F! etc topic but as I dont need original lights for my MHR racer (made by my good friend in Japan)
what are the best/affordable Carrello style lights that I could put on this beasty to get it on the street?

if you look closely you can see evidence of it being street registered in Japan but "roadworthy" in Japan can be a pretty loose term as anyone who has lived there would know...I know I took advantage of the "looseness"

thanks all, Sean

PS. carbon undercowl and LHS cowl removed for transport

Wow, that's some bike - very cool!! The tie down looks a little sketchy though.
