I'd say that's more likely due to the quick release feature and lack of an outer dirt seal, not from the body possibly being made from magnesium. Does anyone on here know for an actual fact that any of the P432A GP Mk.1 caliper bodies either were or weren't made of magnesium? |

I've always wondered about this Bill, they seem light but not mag light. I think this is why we believe they are mag. This is from the old Slater Bros. catalog. Lou P432A “GP Mk.1” (4 x 32mm Pistons/40mm mount centers/Cast magnesium body. ‘QD’ = ‘QUICK-DETACH’ PIP-PIN CALIPER MOUNTING) 20.4425.10* LH ‘QD’ GOLD LINE 20.4425.20* RH ‘QD’ GOLD LINE (SHOWN) 20.4425.30* LH GOLD LINE (40mm mounting lugs as P432D) 20.4425.40* RH GOLD LINE (40mm mounting lugs as P432D) Yet another Brembo ‘first’, this is the caliper that started the revolution in truly high-performance braking for motorcycles in 1983. Fitted to numerous GP winners and series champions in the 80’s and still seeing service on many club racers. OE on some 80’s Bimotas and Ducatis. Out of production, but repair parts are readily available. |

I know, and I agree they don't feel magnesium light. It's hard to argue with the Slaters, but I don't think they are. Cranky doesn't either. We need to do some sort of a burn test to nail this down, and I got a buck that says they're not. |

Just a guess, I would say 1986. 83-85 for the Mk1's. Those are so nice, I think the early ones were straight gold and the later ones had the 'Brembo' name painted red. Lou |

Pricey, kinda, but when was the last time you saw an nos pair of those for sale? I think the titanium listed under material was referring to the non-period pad keeper pins. |
